Abstract Paintings
Abstract art, by definition, does not show a concrete reality. It may give the general feel of something real, a sensation of something real, or maybe an emotion associated with real things, situations, or people. Many viewers of abstract art look for "something" in it. Perhaps a fox or a face or a house or a flag seems to appear. Some viewers simply feel an abstract or let it take them back to something familiar in their minds without showing specific images. I think all of that is welcome; a painting offers to us what it will at any given time and vice versa. If my oil paintings generate thoughts, feelings, memories, curiosity, pleasure or even hope, I think they've made their contribution.
