PAINTING COURSE: Writing with Paint
Joel will be teaching a six week course in the Evening at Emory program beginning April 9, 2009. It will consist of six two-hour sessions and is open to any artist of any level, including beginners.
WRITING WITH PAINT:
Imagine adding visual dialog and tension to your work, deeper character to your portrait, and narrative to your still life or landscape. We’ll explore how to do that and more with lively in-class exercises and out-of-class painting. Every painting talks and you will add drama and richness to what your paintings say by painting with the writer’s toolbox nearby. Artists of all levels and mediums, and writers who want to bring skills they regularly use to visual arts, will find themselves thinking about their work in a challenging new way as they explore Writing with Paint.
